In about nineteen seventy i got my first pair of clackers . They were the two balls hanging either side of a plastic holder and then the strings went down to the balls. They then clacked as you pushed down on the plastic holder. Then you did tricks by being able to make the balls clack below and above..
I remember clackers. I also remember the uproar when they were removed from the shops when the increasing numbers of children appearing in A&E with fractured hand bones as a result of accidents with clackers was recognised. "Clackers Kids get Brokern Wrists" and knuckles, and fingers. Please don't bring these back!

I remember these too, along with the clacking noise! If i'm correct they were withdrawn after tests showed they could shatter - and some did- (weren't the clear ones were the worst?). But come on, fractured wrists, broken teeth -is any of this documented,or we are we going down the road of Monty Pythons Three Yorkshiremen here?

I remember the clackers. In ohio where i grew up at, they were " Clicker Clackers." I come from a family of 6 kids, me in the middle. Not one of us kids or any of our friends or kids we went to school with ever had any problems with them. No one ever got hurt. I cant see anyone getting hurt unless they are misused like anything else. I think if they did come back, and if I was the one to make them, I would put caution lables and or warning lables on it explaining what could happen and if misused, what could happen and that they need to let the parent be responsible if anything would happen like broken fingers, hand, teeth ect.. Who would put it close to their face while playing with them? Thats just asking for trouble. You have to swing them up & down to get them going and stay going. I would let them know they are safe but, when misued what could happen. For 3-5 yrs. of having them, I never had one problem or anyone i knew did. Tell me, Are the people or company that made these around anymore if they could bring them back? If so, who or what was it. Thanks
Todd
