I love the new zip it bag! its such a cool idea and it saves loads of space. I keep it in my bag all the time and use it whenever I need to! It also makes a great re-usable grocery shopping bag. It's fashionable and really strong.

Christmas Surprise

Dear Sirs,

I have always been a fan of all your unusual little novelties and buy some every year to go in Christmas stockings.

For this last Christmas I was entertaining the family of mixed ages and I bought eveyone a small item suitable to themselves.  I wrapped them up with their names on and put them is a mystery box.  They took it in turns to look for their present.  As I had bought them back in October I didn't remember exactly what I had got wrapped up and so we all had some fun.

Dear Editor,

At a recent family dinner, I was trying to think up some forms of entertainment which would be likely to suit everyone; mixed ages and interests notwithstanding. I found the solutions at your store!

I purchased a disappearing dice and, after a relatively short practice period, was ready to astound. It was a great way to kick off the evening.

The highlight, though, was provided by a ‘Grand National’ run by a range of your wind up toys along the floorboards – used as lanes - in our living room. The races were taken very seriously indeed, with the ‘trainers’ urging on their animals and, I am sad to say, not above the occasional bit of sabotage! The dinosaurs, snails and assorted creatures were lined up and required to run ‘heats’, after which the final decided the winner – who happened to be my father (aged 77 going on 7) and his purple brontosaurus (which he has kept ever since as a souvenir) He also liked his grand prize, which was a miniature crochet set from your range.

A fun time was had by all.

Never before have I seen so many good ideas under one roof.

I think your first edition of Bazaar times was brilliantly informative and funny.  I often shop for unusual yet perfect presents for friends and family from Hawkins.  Only this week my cheeky brother asked for a speedboat for his birthday this year and I got him one from your great shop - admittedly it wasn't the size he was expecting but it made him happy!

You also may be pleased to know that your "Jellyatrics" are winging their way to Spain for a dear friend who has retired out there and was feeling a bit lonely and fed up.  I screeched out loud when I saw the Jellyatrics and I know they'll cheer her up no end.

Favourite Shop

When I first saw your shop I thought "what the?" but when I got inside, well, let's just say I didn't come out for an hour and a half.  Every time I'm in town I have to come to your shop!  It's my favourite shop in town.  On my first shoping trip there I came out with countless items that I still use.  I've never been to a shop so many times. And I'm 13.  A teenager!  I come to this shop more often than I shop for clothes.  (I lost count at 133, believe me!)  I can't explain how much fun your shop is.  I could stay all day.  (Once I did.  You can see I have no life)  All the staff are so friendly.  It is my no. 1 shop.  Thank you.

Congratulations on your first edition of Bazaar Time it was fantastic, I thought it would be something to glance at & maybe pick up a few ideas for a gift. But No I took it to work & myself & all my colleagues have read & re-read. Each day we find something we hadn't seen, there is so much packed into one paper.

Hi there,

I was so excited when I walked into your shop and saw a stretchy smiley man. A long time ago, I bought one on a day out. However, when he broke, I was so upset. I have been looking for one ever since.

As soon as I saw them, I rushed to the counter and bought him straight away. He needed a name so I soon come up with Smiley Sam. My brother has a model of a mini cooper and Sam loves to sit in it and drive every where.

Your shop is great and I am going to buy another stretchy smiley man to keep Sam company. You may think I'm crazy, but I just love stretchy smiley men. They're so cool!

Hi!,

I am just writing this email to tell you all at hawkin how much i love your shop! I think the little elastic men are fantastic to play with and they are only 25p so if they snap it is cheap enough to go and buy a new one. Another thing i love about Hawkins Bazaare is the Bazaar Times which is just so cool to read! My local Hawkin store is in carlisle and the people who work there are very friendly and i like the way you can try most toys out before you buy them, i would definitely recommend you to anyone!
